Lay of LaeliaBeloved heart, you are my only friend;
The only one in whom I put my trust.
Tis you alone I know will comprehend
When others turn away, aloof, unjust.
So capable of sacrifice and pain
Yet always ready with an open ear
To set aside yourself when I complain
From woes and doubts to those that I endear.
Self-isolating always for my sake
That I, at last, begin to comprehend
How you, despite abuses, do not break,
And that is why, my heart, my dearest friend,
That my philosophy, then, I reprove--
The heart is also capable of love.
Dayza and Nonok:thumb320705239: :thumb318961274:
Nonok crossed his arms as he watched his sis sister Dayza pace the floor. She was grumbling to herself. Each step she took echoed eerily on the bare cobblestone flooring. In the quiet of such a large room, it seemed so loud. Nonok sighed softly, but even that sounded noisy.
"Dayza just admit we are lost," he said at length when her pacing became more frantic.
She snapped at him, "We are NOT lost!"
"We have been in these ruins for hours, with no sign of the exit . . .what do YOU call it when you cannot find your way back?" His tone was calm, but his bright red eyes held complete sarcasm.
Dayza whirled around to face her brother. The drow siblings had a silent stand off. Violet eyes narrowed as they tried to intimidate her bother without success. "I CALL it a detour!" she finally retorted.
Nonok snorted, "You shouldn't have lost the map . . ."
"YOU shouldn't have attracted those zombies. I TOLD you not to wear red," Dayza sounded exasperated he was trying to place all the blame on her.

An Easter Surprise: for Kadajo"Guess what?"
Nonok yawned as his sister danced around him. He pushed his stark white hair away from his eyes and raised one brow at her. Dayza, meanwhile, switched from dancing to bouncing.
"What?" he finally conceded.
"It's almost…Easter!" Dayza crowed. Nonok blinked.
"So?"
"So…!" Dayza sighed, exasperated. "So guess what the Easter bunny brings?"
Nonok shrugged nonchalantly. "Money? Better mercenary jobs?"
"No, silly! Candy!"
Nonok let out a scoff. "Shoulda' known, heh…" Dayza was barely listening.
"There's solid chocolate and milk chocolate and chocolate eggs and cream-filled eggs and marshmallow chicks and—"
"I get it!" Nonok snapped. "Why do I care?"
Dayza leaned towards her brother with a huge smirk. "Because we're going to do something fun."
"I'll bet," Nonok muttered. He wanted to get back to his nap.
"We're going to
Prize Poem: KadajoThere blossomed once between us a great tree,
so green at first with shy and tender leaves
unfurling slow, revealing verdigris
and promises between us thick as thieves.
The summer brought such opulent perfume
on decadent white-petaled mountain ash
festooned against the green and full in bloom
encircling our friendship like a sash.
But with the changing season came the frost
and bitter words transmuted green to brown.
The chill soon killed the root and all was lost
as petals, buds and leaves came falling down.
Then autumn sighed the equinox's end
as winter came and stole away my friend.
